This short tower stand out against the northern sky on the edge of the Rim closest to the Weyrbowl's ground entrance. It is a brief twisting spire that ascends to just above the height of an average brown dragon's shoulder. Blossoming outward from there the tower opens up to a platform big enough to fit three people comfortably and five at a pinch.

Atop the platform are two huge drums, their design build in such a way that the majority of their sound travels out across the ocean. These drums are powerful enough to be heard on both the neighboring islands, but they are easier to hear to the north. Covering the platform is a curved stone roof. The roof is attached to the platform by a single stone wall, whose solid structure further amplifies the sound of the drums. It also catches the sound of incoming drum messages with ease so those sitting on the Drummer's station can pick out the single beats and specific rhythms better.

One of the chores of Candidates with any skill in drumming or simply listening at all is to man this station but usually it is manned by a Harper or Drummer.

By some miracle this survived the Storm intact save for a few scratches on its rocky walls.
