Weather

Erdan Island Chain

Northern Islands: The mornings are still chill but the days are warming up. The occasional cold wind rushes through the otherwise mild evenings. The trees are in full blossom. (Faran, Trys, High Rest)
Torene: Rain increases as monsoon season fast approaches. Storms gather in the distance. Boats are advised to be wary. Dragons should be wary of high winds. The waves are excellent for 'surfing'. The trees are in full blossom.
Southern Islands: Scattered showers and infrequent thunderstorms. The mornings are bitter cold, but the day warms to be pleasant. (Essal, Quent, Island of the Connell)
Huryen: The evenings are increasingly warm, but pleasant. The days' temperature is mild. The water around the island is warming.
Jubella: Frigid dangerous tides around the coast. Crisp, windy nights and heavy rain. There is occasional snow.

Western Continent

Great Cliffs / Northern Half: Chill temperatures with fog during the morning. There are occasional biting breezes and the mornings are frost-filled. Snow dots the higher elevations.
Crashing Seas / Southern Half: Days grow colder, the wind harsher. Air travel and boating not advised.

Down by the Sea - (Jr. Weyrlings, Lesson 6) Eight Months. Making and testing straps, dragonettes solo flights. Weyrlings learning in-flight hand signals. Teaching dragons to hunt. Practice communicating without speaking, dragons continue to practice jumps and short flights.

White Sands Weyr

New Hope - (Sr. Weyrlings, Lesson 5) One Turn and six months! Continue between jumps, increase distance / continue ground practice / aerial maneuvers. Green are almost mature and ready to Rise in two - three months.

Storm Tossed - (Sr. Weyrlings) Two Turns! Graduation will commence during the Summer Gather Day celebration.

Stables / Feeding Grounds

Not everyone who lives at the Weyr can always get around on dragon back. Runners are kept at the Weyrs stables and often are lent out to Weyrfolk wishing to travel other places such as the Hold and also to stable mounts of any visitors to the Weyr. There is also a pen with herdbeasts here.

Not far from the fenced perimeter of the stables are several small buildings for Wher Handlers and their Whers. The rooms are snug and have windows. The Wher runs are specially designed for the draconic cousins to reside in darkened enclosures that will make them feel comfortable.

Some distance away from the stables and structures is a large pen. This is meant for the adult dragons, and is a far enough distance away from the stables to ensure a stooping dragon will not frighten the runners and other herdbeasts too badly.
