For Beastcrafters and others who visit the Stables its good to know what runners or other beasts might be encountered here. Please note the Whers are not listed here, instead being listed on their own board 'Whers' (which hasn't been put up yet)
Canines
Beast: A large wolfhound-type canine. He is very aloof and respects only a very few people; however he has never threatened anyone and guards the runners in the stables. His coat is gray and white.
Hamaru: This lanky grey wolfhound-type canine is trained and owned by Hana to help her with beast work. His nickname is Ham.
Yokai: Though she was used for herding beasts in her working Turns, she is retired. She was trained and belongs to Hana. Her coat is peppered with a multitude of hues, her eyes amber.

Felines
Feline: One of the resident semi-feral felines that keep the stables free of pests. She is a smooth coated feline with a great deal of orange in her shaggy coat. The mother of Spots.
Spots: Named for his piebald coat, Spots is one of six from Feline's last litter, Spots is the only one remaining. The others have either been killed, adopted or wandered off. He has an unusually long tail.

Runners
Curly: He is a "muscular black stallion with watery brown eyes." He got his name from his habit of always curling his lips back when he whinnies, and exposing his "really yellow" teeth.
Pele: She belongs to Hana. At 14.2 hands high she is a petite mare. Black with three white stockings and a white coronet, white blaze.
Name: Soi-fon
Appearance: Though she's young, Soi-fon has since reached her full growth of 15hh. A slim creature, she is descended of racing stock on her sire's side, with fine limbs and a wide, intelligent eye. Her colouring is a dark blood bay, with a black mane and tail, three white socks and an odd white star on her lower whither. Her mane and forelock in particular seem reluctant to grow long.
Personality: Due to her age and history with an abusive handler before Hana got a hold of her, Soi-fon is not a mare for the inexperienced or the nervous. She requires a gentle but firm touch, and a lot of reassurance. However, she has displayed a great desire to learn and work, and with time and training, Beastcrafter Hana believes she will be a fine mare. Soi-fon has also shown an amusing but rather sweet interest in Almost, and is often seen with her head hanging over the wall between their stalls.
Name: Stormrunner (nicknamed Stormy or Storm)
Appearance: Standing at an impressive 18hh, Stormrunner is a crossbred gelding of the slimmer herding runner and the broader draught runners. While such crossbreeding can sometimes result in ill conformation, it also has an equal chance of breeding a fine specimen. And in Storm's case; he's a fine specimen, built with the clean legs of a good herding runner and the agile mind required for work, and the size and even gaits of the draught runner combined with it's staying power and endurance. In colour, he's an attractive dapple grey, with feathers carefully kept clean dusting his large hooves.
Personality: While he's inherited the shrewd intelligence of a good herding runner, and can be lazy at times, most of Storm's temperament is a contradiction of his name, as he has inherited much of the docile reliability and friendliness of his draught runner ancestry.
Tasha: She is a piebald mare with a mild temperament. She belongs to Keena, a Runner/Messenger for the Weyr.

Other
Almost: Here is one of the rare pigs on Pern. Almost is a three Turn old black and white sow. Originally B'rioth brought her to the Weyr with the intention of giving the sow to the cooks for a celebration meal. However, as the piglet continued to grow, no one had the heart to kill her. Thus her name generated - she was 'almost' dinner. She is kept in one of the empty stalls. Having been raised around runners and the Weyr's other domestic animals (dragons, humans, fire-lizards etc.) she is quite friendly.
