Appearance: She is 5'6", her long legs make up most of her height. Marissa has blue-gray eyes. Her hair is chocolate brown with streaks of various hues. It falls to her elbows and she normally wears it down, though when it gets hot she puts in a runner's tail. She normally wears her silver hoops.
Personality: Marissa's optimistic, and fun to be around. She is quick to laugh and smile. She doesn't do well in crowds. She is slow to anger and sticks up for what she believes in. If she thinks that someone should not be doing something, she'll scold them thoroughly. She loves all animals. Marissa was known at Southern for her intelligence, she loves to read and write. Marissa's quick to laugh and smile. Marissa hates bugs, especially gossamer spinners and crawlers.
History: Marissa was born in Southern Hold to a small family of traders. When she was 5 her family set off across the sea. On the voyage, a terrible storm hit. A wave capsized the boat and the only survivors were Marissa and a sailor, who saved her life. The sailor gave her to his parents, who raised her at Rivers Crossing Hold. Marissa's friends were mostly boys, but she had one good friend that was a girl who died of firehead. When she was Searched, her step-parents gave her the silver hoop earrings as good luck, and a silver necklace with a big sapphire on it that was a family heirloom.
