At the moment, there is no limit on bronze, brown, blue, or green dragons. No white dragons or any other kind of non-canon dragons. This Pern currently has a white dragon (An'zell of Speranth). We are not accepting gold rider applications.
If you are interested in making a dragonrider character who is a transfer: High Reaches, Igen, Ista, Southern or Telgar are your choices.
Dragonriders native to Great Cliffs or White Sands Weyr will need to have a good command over the history, as the general Weyr population is small enough that after Weyrlinghood everyone will certainly know everyone else. Try site messaging current riders, as anyone brought up here should definitely have prior knowledge and friendship with PC dragonriders. There are also History posts to help ease the transition to our Pern.
Specific Positions:
1 - G’naro the White Sands' Weyrling Master is looking to retire. Applicants to this position must start as his assistant. If applying to be G’naro’s assistant, please let us know if you want to take over for him.
Crafters can join with rank up to Journeyman Level 3. Anything higher than that is considered a major position, comes with minimum activity requirements, and requires Admin approval.
The absolute minimum ages for Craft status are as follows:
Any Craft is acceptable. Masters are rare, especially among dragonriders. For more information on Crafting, see the Erdan Island Chain Records section.
Currently Seeking:
Weyrs: Healers, Harpers, Starcrafters, Beastcrafters, Master Starcrafter, among others.
Around the Holds: Beastcrafters, Harpers, Healers, Miners, Vintners, Starsmiths, and basically all!
There are two types of Candidates on 10thPPC. The first is the traditional dragon Candidate. The 'Dragon Candidates' section has the information about these Candidates. Any reference to the word 'candidate' in that section means dragon-specific candidates. The second is a wher candidate. We have a small but growing population of wher loves, so we offer wher clutches too. Same as the Dragon Candidate section, any reference to the word 'candidate' in the Wher Candidate section means wher-specific candidates.
Dragon Candidates
There are three ways to become a Candidate.
1. The most exciting way to become a Candidate is to be Searched during gameplay. Apply as a "Holdfolk" or "Weyrfolk". When you have been active for two weeks you will be eligible to be Searched.
2. You may Adopt a Candidate. If you adopt a Candidate, please incorporate their current details into your new profile.
> Adopt a Great Cliffs Candidate.
> Adopt a White Sands Candidate.
3. You may also apply as a Weyrbred Candidate (Weyrbrat) of any age between 12 - 21 (females) or 12 - 17 (males, any other gender) or 12 - 21 (females). However, we consider this a Major Position. Please see the Major Positions rules. After you're accepted as a Weyrbred Candidate, you may assume in your history that you've been left Standing at past Hatchings.
If you started as a Weyrbrat - Anyone born in the Weyr is automatically considered a Candidate at age 12.
Wher Candidates
There are currently no Searches for Wher candidates. The only way to get a Wher is to find a wild-wher clutch and somehow overcome the mother to steal an egg (admin-drive storyline), find one for sale in the market, or join a wher-clutch plotline. We have an active wher plotline in and around White Sands Hold.
Anyone over the age of 12 can be a Wher Handler. If you are interested in being a Wher candidate, please apply as a "Holdfolk" or "Weyrfolk" and mention you're interested in whers.
We encourage non-rider characters. There is a lot more to role-playing on Pern than just fighting Threadfall, and let's face it, the majority of the Pernese population are not dragonriders. Any and all Weyrfolk welcome. Some specific positions are available below.
Specific Positions:
There is an active Wher Handler community on both the Western Continent and the Erdan archipelago. At both the Holds and the Weyrs we’re interested in recruiting three golds, seven bronzes, and unlimited browns, blues, and greens. Applications of any color are welcome, please, no whites.
Gold Handlers - 3. There in also one gold handler / Lady Holder available for adoption at Rivers Crossing Hold. Gold wher handlers have the same requirements as gold riders Requirements - Must be active - requires Admin approval.
Established RP hooks:
- Lady Holder Niceta of gold Nicesk (adopt her!) of Rivers' Crossing Hold and Vanech of bronze Vanesk have an active Wher-breeding program. They are interested in either assistance or recruits to train the newly Impressed Wher Handlers. Wher candidates also welcomed (See "Candidates" section above for details.)
- There are rumors of a wild gold wher seen around White Sands Hold. Lord Heron and some others have formed an open search party to find the wher. Perhaps those among the party will gain access to a wher egg.
All of our wonderful holds need cooks, drudges, Groundcrew, Searchables both female and male, holdbrats, and other holdfolk. They also need Holders.
Major positions requiring an activity commitment and admin approval include Kajano Hold's Lord Holder Feytrolian (Western), High Rest Holder Benreon, his second wife Toresha, headwomen, one of our seven other Holders. Rivers Crossing's Lady Niceta (Western) is also an adoptable. She's not married and has no children.
Currently Seeking:
Please ask before you apply with a gold fire-lizard. A good application is necessary to obtain Admiin Approval. No more than two fire-lizards per character, please. You'll have the opportunity to gain more fire-lizard during RP. The five basic colors only.
Any feline is a small creature. There are only a limited number of large felines roaming around. Please keep any feline under 20 pounds.
Canines range in size from 20 to 90 pounds. Pernese canines are not 'pocket dogs' unless they're a specialized breed for hunting tunnelsnakes.
We offer a unique (as far as I know) opportunity for our members to play shipfish. With several active Dolphineers, the dolphins would not be alone in the waters. They can also swim between islands around the archipelago and interact with each other, fishermen, etc. Dolphins can actively participate in Threadfall too! Maybe they migrate between the two continents as well. It's not that far swimming from one to the other. One never knows when a rider will snap a strap and fall off their dragon, or a boat capsize with its crew in need of rescue.
