Peeku's Pod

This pod changed leadership in Turn 19 when Peeku chased out the older Imree and won the alpha place. Just before the Storm, this pod was notably absent and has only recently returned to the Erdan's waters. It is the most north ranging of the pods, and can sometimes be found as far north as Tiberon Island just south of the Western Continent.

Name: Peeku
Age: Twenty-Two Turns
Description: Peeku is a paler shade of silver with several white spots on her nose.
Personality: She is very assertive almost to the point of being aggressive, giving her the drive to become a solid leader. It is unlikely she will be out-fought by any future contender for the pod she just won.
History: When she was five Turns, she moved from her mother's pod to this one and stayed here during the birth of two calves. Peeku recently fought off Imree and took her place as the alpha of this pod.
Family Ties: Eldest daughter of Immi. Older sister of Sora.

Name: Karpan
Age: Twenty-Seven Turns
Description: Huge for a cow, she is the largest female shipfish in the Island Chain, nearly matching the length of her legendary sire. Her hide is wrecked with scars.
Personality: Though she is a happy enough dolphin, a great sorrow lingers about her. It is only by seeing her son again or doing some service to humans that she is made happy and content. She was very close to her sire, and when he passed on Karpan mourned for nearly a Turn, refusing to mate or go near other bulls for nearly two Turns.
History: Karpan is native to the Erdan Chain at least that is what everyone believes. Her true origins are rather mysterious because her dame is unknown. Her sire left for the spring and summer of one mating season, his whereabouts unknown though many think he was around Southern Weyr. When he returned he had his young daughter Karpan in tow. Her mother remains a mystery. If she knows who her dame is, she is not telling. When she was younger she was caught in the terrible undertow south of Huryen and pulled on to the shore, scraping up her hide and tearing one fin badly. It was sheer luck she did not die. Had it not been for the Beastcrafter who found her, and nursed her back to health, she would have succumbed to her injuries. The accident left her with scars and a fear of the island so much she refuses to go any further south than Essal. That is why she changed pods.
Family Ties: Daughter of Zarn. Mother of Keepi (by Tek).

Age: His age is unknown.
Description: Massive old bull who is rarely seen nowadays. He is the largest shipfish along the archipelago.
Personality: Though mean and bitter most of the time, he has a soft spot for calves, and is often seen lingering near Peeku's Pod. Most humans consider him part of her pod; however whether this is official or not is unknown.
History: Little is known about him save that he once left the area for the mating season, only to return nearly a turn later with his young calf in tow.
Family Ties: Father of Karpan. Grandfather of Keepi.
