Fire-lizard: Brown Charo (hatched when Y'vis was 15)
Appearance: He’s anything but conventional. He has developed a secret habit of trying on dresses; however, he is ashamed of this secret passion so hides it well. His hair is black and he keeps it long enough for a slender runner's tail, tied with a leather cord. He wears a knife sheath on one hip and a pouch on the other. He is stocky but not fat and has his father's green eyes.
Personality: He is an Apprentice Beastcrafter, and he has a love of the freedom he feels when he is around them. As much as he loves animals, he has a tough time following orders and would rather spend "quality time" with them in the field or stable. Outwardly, people consider him soft-spoken and quiet, perhaps a little shy and definitely awkward. Inwardly he longs for the ability to be able to express his true self.
History: Yarvis is the 'treasured' son of the Headwoman and his early upbringing shows that. He was the favored one, always being pushed toward his father when A'vis came to visit. However, he does not remember his father well for A'vis was killed in Threadfall when Yarvis was six. The only things he remembers are the toys that A'vis would give him and the fact that he rode several times on Minkoth.
Yarvis has memories of clinging to his mother and refusing to leave when she attempted to send him to Huryen with his brother and sister. He wanted to try and comfort her but did not know how. Still, she could not be his mother and so sent him to apprentice with the Hold's Beastcrafter.
During the Spring Gather of his 15th Turn, he used his first "paycheck" as an apprentice to purchase a fire-lizard egg and Charo hatched from it.
Family Connections: Older brother Aleena and Minko. Son of Yevana and A'vis. Cousin of Nattaska. Nephew of Tymatt and Janika.
Age: A Turn and a Half
Appearance: Felicitath's hide is very close in shade to the pale celandine of a shoot grown under the cover of leaves, a rather unsettling thing indeed. Her coloring is so minimal that you can see pale green lines of veins almost everywhere if you look closely. Bands of stark veridian encircle what would be her wrists and ankles like manacles.
She slumps because she is forever searching paying attention to the details of life, making her blue-sized form look insignificant. However, she puts on muscle quickly and will not lack stamina in the sky. Her tail will make a good rudder, long and straight, and her wings are appropriately proportioned for good maneuverability.
Personality: Felicitath's love of life is unparalleled by most. She brings joy in the form of chirps and warbles wherever she goes and as many of the dragons at the Weyr, she enjoys 'singing'.
She is altogether a happy dragon and enjoys socializing and spending time with her rider. However, she is neither dim-witted nor overly hyper-active. She is merely cheerful. Paralleled with her keen interest in learning and nosing through things, she is exuberant and difficult to keep up with as a young dragon. As she matures her tendency to wander around exploring will dim only as her knowledge grows. Alas for Y'vis she has the memory of most dragons, short, therefore will she always be asking questions he has already answered.
She is a student of movement as well, watching how fire lizards fly and attempting before she is strong enough to mimic them. Any creature she sees moving around, she will attempt to mirror. Indeed if a dragon could dance, she would learn how.
