Appearance: He recently cut his curly dark hair so it is dragon-rider short. He stands 6 even, with broad shoulders but well-defined muscles. His right arm is badly scarred from shoulder to wrist. He will normally wear a glove to keep it warm and to hide some of the more gruesome scars. He has dark eyes, a few freckles, and a Threadscore on his cheek.
Personality: He is reclusive with deep thoughts that he shares exclusively with Werreth. Insults rarely trouble him, he simply brushes them off. D'mas is a bit of a philosopher. In his spare time, he enjoys reading the records or contemplating life’s many questions. D'mas has a great sense of honor and respect. He does not speak about the scars on his right arm or the trauma that caused it unless asked, even then it is with reluctance. Occasionally he wonders what has become of his family. He has not had contact with them since he was Searched.
History: Denmas was holdbred, the eldest of three children. His mother died giving birth to Denmas' second sister. When he was ten Turns, his father, and Denmas were cutting firewood. The wind began to blow hard and a branch was torn from a nearby tree. It plummetted down, crushing Denmas' father and trapping Denmas underneath it. He was pinned by his arm, and it was great luck he managed to escape with only a broken, scarred arm. The nerve damage caused by his injury forced him to become left-handed; however, he has enough movement in it to not impede other activities. Denmas' uncle took in the three orphans. At fourteen, Denmas was Searched and went to Southern Weyr and then later transferred to White Sands.
Family: Mother (deceased), Father (deceased), Uncle (Mother's brother), and two younger sisters.

Appearance: About thirty-six meters in length with a sixty-five-meter wingspan. Warm suede skin as is most dragons’ flesh. His skin resembles a reddish brown color that in the dark looks much like a very dark black, but in bright sunlight shows mostly brown with the faded red barely visible and altogether a more dark auburn color.
Personality: When not fighting Thread, Werreth enjoys the serenity of Weyr life. He is rather philosophical for a dragon and will often contemplate the questions that his rider does. However, he insists that D’mas is too anti-social and needs to find more friends.
