No New Posts Dragonriders' weyrs

Located within the walls of the Weyrbowl are the weyrs of the individual riders. These weyrs span three of the Weyrbowl's sides, the fourth side being dominated by the Hatching Grounds.

The weyrs are divided into six rows. Each row is connected by a walkway and has a ledge where the dragons can sun themselves.

Weyrs generally consist of a cavern for the dragon, the higher the row is, the larger the cavern is... so the last row has ledges only suited for green dragons or small blues. Therefore the larger dragons live in the higher rows and the smaller dragons live in the lower rows, with the uppermost row reserved for gold dragons and their weyrmates. A few weyrs on the second and third-row remain empty, reserved for overnight guests.

No New Posts Feeding Pens

A large ledge with a fence all the way around it both to prevent anyone falling off onto the Weyrbowl below and to prevent the herdbeasts from escaping should their smaller pens open.

Half a dozen smaller pens in which different species of herdbeasts and other meat producers are cordoned off from each other. The smaller pens are large enough for a gold dragon to land in the middle as well as to provide the creatures within several yards of running room. Just enough to get the dragon's hunting instincts to kick in and make the capture/kill all the more satisfying.

No New Posts Hatching Sands

High above the cradle of the Weyrbowl ringing, the top portion is the Rim. Big enough by far to allow every dragon plenty of "wing-room", it overlooks the Weyrbowl and has a great view of the surrounding area as well. Riders and other folks often like to rock climb the face of the Weyrbowl and reach the Rim as their reward.

On the Sands: No one.

No New Posts Weyrlakes

Located in the far corner of the Weyrbowl, the 'Lakes extend out from the Weyrbowl as two rivers, one leading to the ocean and the other stretching down towards the Rashidi Forest. There the river settles into a large lake that branches into smaller lakes and ponds.

Cool in the summer and often warm in the winter the 'Lakes are a great place for humans, dragons, and fire-lizards to wallow, play, and clean.

No New Posts Weyrling Barracks

Carved into the face of the Weyrbowl on the bottom level with the ground are the Weyrling Barracks. Separated somewhat for a boys and girls and the Weyrlings are separated by human gender not dragon gender since it's more the humans that are horomonal at this stage than the dragons.

The Barracks are a diminutive version of the larger dragon weyrs, carved into the rock they have a long hallway connecting all of them at the back of each "weyr" so friends are always a call away if one needs help.

Inside each dwelling is a stone couch for the growing dragonet and a bed for the rider with furs on each structure to keep warm. Since the dragonets need constant bathing and oiling the human will oft' be down at the Weyrlakes where they can wash themselves, thus eliminating the need for a bath. There is a toilet however and shined metal for a mirror. Along a wall in each dwelling is a shelf carved in for the humans to store the oils and other assorted necessities, and a trunk at the foot of each human bed for their clothing.

Board Description
The Weyrbowl
The rim of the Weyrbowl stretches high into the sky, and there is only one entrance from the outside leading in unless arriving a'dragonback and gliding down into the wide bowl itself. There are many ledges were dragon's are often found sunbathing, and the lake is the dominating feature of the bowl where one can often find new Weyrlings scrubbing the hides of their new mates.

From the bowl people can access the Lower Caverns, the Weyrling Barracks, and find access to stairs leading up to the tier upon tier of dragon weyrs.

There is a stable and paddock for herdbeasts in the bowl also where sick dragons or rising dragons can find prey, and where the Weyr's Beast Crafters are often hard at work. The herdbeasts are generally kept for the new Weyrlings whose dragons have yet to start flying or hunting.
